Slack

Connect Slack so teammates can ask Knoku from a workspace. Slack is a team surface and can answer from both Public and Internal source groups.

Use Slack for internal support, engineering enablement, sales engineering, and team knowledge lookup.

Install

  1. Open Project -> Channels -> Slack.
  2. Click Add to Slack.
  3. Approve the OAuth flow.
  4. Invite the bot to the channels where it should answer.

Each Slack installation is tied to one project.

Ask a question

Mention the bot in an allowed channel:

@Knoku how do I install the widget?

Knoku replies in the thread with an answer and source links when available.

The /knoku slash command is also supported.

Channel controls

Use Allowed channels to restrict where the bot responds. Enter Slack channel IDs, separated by commas. Leave the list empty to allow all channels where the bot is present.

The slash command can either ignore the channel filter or respect the same allowlist, depending on the setting in the channel configuration.

Curated ingest

Slack can also become a source. Enable curated ingest and choose the reaction emoji that marks a useful thread for indexing. When an approved message is marked, Knoku imports the thread as a document.

Use this for durable answers that start in Slack and should be searchable later.

Sessions and feedback

Slack questions appear in Sessions. Feedback actions are recorded for analytics.

Remove Slack

Disconnect the installation from Project -> Channels -> Slack. Past sessions remain in the dashboard.

Plan

Slack requires Open Source or above.
